Kimberly Crandall, FNP, APRN, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner as well as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse which allows her to efficiently provide comprehensive care to all stages of life. From newborn to the elderly, Kimberly is dedicated to providing compassionate care tailored to each of her patients. As her main goal is to treat everyone as the unique person they are, you can expect your concerns to not only be heard but most importantly be addressed at Lakeview Family Practice.
Aside from her other medical experience, Kimberly feels her healthcare career truly began in 2005 while living in Pennsylvania where she accepted a staff nurse position on a medical surgical floor. She advanced quickly, and was asked to take a leadership position at Orwigsburg Nursing & Rehabilitation Center as their lead night shift supervisor. As much as she loved her patients and enjoyed helping her team thrive, her husband's military career forced her to leave and her family was scheduled to head North to Alaska! Kimberly was overjoyed after arriving in Wasilla when she accepted a job at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in July of 2007, where she has continued to work in the Surgical Services Department for over 15 years.
As the facility’s Pre-Operative Registered Nurse, she ensures that every step is taken to make sure patients have the safest surgical procedure possible. Over the years Kimberly has seen a vast amount of patients with many different conditions, ailments, and primarily high-risk patients, where she has had to carefully determine if they could be cleared to have their procedure. During this time her passion for patient care grew, along with her hunger for more knowledge and Kimberly obtained her Master’s Degree of Nursing at George Mason University. After several years of hard work and dedication from seeing the lack of providers and resources in Alaska, she became certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners along with being a current member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Aside from her other qualifications, Kimberly recently completed over 600 hours of clinical work with a specialty focus in Internal Medicine.
Kimberly was born in Amsterdam, New York and raised in a small town called Broadalbin. She met her high school sweetheart Dave, in Upstate, NY and they have been married now for more than 35 years. After traveling with her husband David while he served 23 years in the United States Army, they were happy to finally be settled in the Mat-Su Valley, where Kimberly could use her career to provide superior care to her friends and her fellow community members. Together they have raised their two children and are now enjoying the opportunity of helping raise their two beautiful grandchildren. When Kimberly isn’t cooking or spending time with family, she loves hunting, fishing, traveling, and spending time on the lake at their cabin!
